## Short answer

We found no published failure rates for consumer mesh systems, so the best evidence of a durable mesh system is how long the company promises to fix it and keep it patched. On that measure, eero's Wi-Fi 7 line leads: a three-year warranty and security updates guaranteed until at least October 31, 2031. Google's Nest Wifi Pro is the weakest new buy, with a one-year warranty and updates guaranteed only until October 27, 2027.

## Key takeaways

- We found no published hardware failure rates for consumer mesh systems, so a long warranty and a dated security-update promise are the most concrete durability signals you can compare.
- eero gives its Wi-Fi 7 models (eero 7, eero Pro 7, eero Max 7, eero PoE 7, eero Outdoor 7) a three-year US warranty and guarantees security updates until at least October 31, 2031.
- ASUS's US store lists a three-year manufacturer warranty for the ZenWiFi BT10. TP-Link gives Deco systems sold in the US by TP-Link or its authorized resellers, bought on or after September 1, 2023, a two-year warranty.
- Google guarantees Nest Wifi Pro security updates only until at least October 27, 2027, about a year from now, and its warranty is one year.
- Netgear ends support three years after a product's last sale date, and TP-Link sets no fixed update period, so the end date depends on when each model leaves the market.

The most durable mesh Wi-Fi you can buy, judged on what companies actually commit to in writing, is eero's Wi-Fi 7 line, including the eero 7, eero Pro 7 and eero Max 7. eero gives its Wi-Fi 7 models a three-year US warranty and guarantees security updates until at least October 31, 2031. We found no published failure rates for consumer mesh systems, so that pairing of a long warranty and a dated update promise is the strongest durability evidence available. The weakest new buy on this measure is Google's Nest Wifi Pro: a one-year warranty and security updates guaranteed only until at least October 27, 2027.

This is a research-based guide. We have not stress-tested or aged any of these systems, and we found no lab that publishes long-term reliability data for consumer mesh. Every warranty and support term below comes from the manufacturer's own pages, checked on October 20, 2026. Warranty terms are for US purchases; some update policies are global.

## What "durable" can mean for a mesh system

Search for durable mesh Wi-Fi and you'll find lists ranked on speed or coverage. Those don't tell you how long a system will last. Two things do, and you can check both before you buy:

- **The warranty.** It sets how long the maker will replace a unit that fails. It doesn't prove the hardware is better built, but it is a promise you can enforce.
- **The security-update commitment.** A mesh system that still powers on but no longer gets security fixes has reached the end of its safe life. For a device that sits between your home and the internet, that end date matters more than whether the plastic survives. Our guide on [checking whether your router still gets security updates](https://wifiweekly.com/guides/is-my-router-still-getting-security-updates/) covers why.

Everything else, such as how a unit handles heat or years of power cycling, is unmeasured in public data.

## Mesh warranty and update support compared

| System | US warranty | Security-update commitment | What that means if you buy today |
|---|---|---|---|
| eero Wi-Fi 7 (eero 7, Pro 7, Max 7, PoE 7, Outdoor 7) | 3 years | At least 5 years from a new purchase on eero.com or Amazon.com, or October 31, 2031 if later | Updates guaranteed to at least October 31, 2031 |
| eero 6+, eero Pro 6E | 1 year | Same policy; listed date October 31, 2031 | Same update date, shorter warranty |
| ASUS ZenWiFi BT10 | 3 years (ASUS US eShop listing) | No fixed US period published | Check ASUS's end-of-life information before and after buying |
| TP-Link Deco (US purchases on or after Sept. 1, 2023) | 2 years | No fixed period; updates stop when a product is taken off the market | End date depends on how long the model stays on sale |
| Netgear Orbi | Model-by-model; check Netgear's warranty table | Support generally ends 3 years after the last sale date | End date depends on when the model stops selling |
| Google Nest Wifi Pro | 1 year | At least October 27, 2027 (5 years from its October 27, 2022 release) | About one year of guaranteed updates left |

## Picks by what you care about

### You want the longest written commitment: eero Wi-Fi 7

eero is the only maker here that publishes both a three-year warranty and a model-by-model update date. Its warranty page says it extended coverage "from one to three years for all current Wi-Fi 7 products": the eero 7, eero Pro 7, eero Max 7, eero PoE 7 and eero Outdoor 7. Its security-update page guarantees updates for at least five years from when you buy a device new on eero.com or Amazon.com, and lists October 31, 2031 for the Wi-Fi 7 models. Bought today, five years would run to October 20, 2031, so the listed October 31, 2031 date is the one that applies.

Two caveats. The warranty applies to eeros bought from eero.com or official retail partners, and older eeros still sold, such as the eero 6+ and eero Pro 6E, keep a one-year warranty even though they share the 2031 update date. To choose between the three Wi-Fi 7 models, see our [eero 7 vs. eero Pro 7 vs. eero Max 7 comparison](https://wifiweekly.com/guides/eero-7-vs-eero-pro-7-vs-eero-max-7/).

### You want a three-year warranty outside eero: ASUS ZenWiFi BT10

ASUS's US online store lists a "3 year manufacturer warranty" for the ZenWiFi BT10, matching eero's Wi-Fi 7 term. The listing showed the BT10 as out of stock when we checked on October 20, 2026. ASUS's update commitment is weaker on paper: the only ASUS page we found with fixed security-support dates covers models certified in Singapore, not the US, so there is no dated US promise to hold it to.

### You're buying TP-Link Deco: two years, and no fixed update date

TP-Link's US warranty table gives Deco mesh systems two years for products sold in the US by TP-Link or its authorized resellers and bought on or after September 1, 2023. Its end-of-life policy says that for products taken off the market, TP-Link "discontinues support and maintenance, including security updates," without stating how long after the last sale that happens. If you buy a Deco, a newer model gives you a longer runway than an older one that may soon be discontinued.

### Netgear Orbi: support tied to the last sale date

Netgear says that, in general, end of service "occurs three years after the last sale date," and that products past that point "no longer receive firmware updates, including important security updates." The last sale date can vary by SKU and region. Netgear doesn't publish last sale dates in advance, so a model that is still current gives you more runway than a clearance-priced older one. Netgear's warranty page sets durations by model and region, starting from the purchase date, so confirm the term for the exact Orbi model you're buying.

### Think twice: Google Nest Wifi Pro

Google's policy promises Nest devices automatic security updates for at least five years from the date it starts selling them on the US Google Store. For Nest Wifi Pro, Google lists a release date of October 27, 2022 and a guarantee running until at least October 27, 2027. Buy one today and you get about one year of guaranteed updates, plus the one-year limited warranty listed on Google's US store page. Google may keep updating it after that date, but it has not committed to doing so. Google's spec page also notes that Nest Wifi Pro can't mesh with older Nest Wifi or Google Wifi units, so it won't extend an existing Google network.

## How to get more years out of any mesh system

- **Buy new from an authorized seller.** eero's three-year warranty covers purchases from eero.com or official retail partners, eero's update clock starts at a new purchase on eero.com or Amazon.com, and TP-Link's US warranty covers products sold in the US by TP-Link or its authorized resellers.
- **Keep the receipt.** eero and Netgear both say coverage starts at the purchase date, and you'll need proof of it for any claim.
- **Leave automatic updates on**, and check the maker's end-of-life list once a year.
- **Wire the units if you can.** It won't change any warranty or update date, but it gives you a faster link between units that doesn't depend on the mesh radios. See our guide to [wired vs. wireless backhaul](https://wifiweekly.com/guides/mesh-wifi-wired-vs-wireless-backhaul/).

## Bottom line

You can't buy a mesh system with proven longer-lasting hardware, because nobody publishes that data. You can buy one with a longer promise. eero's Wi-Fi 7 models have the strongest written terms today: three years of warranty and security updates guaranteed to at least October 31, 2031. ASUS matches the three-year warranty on the ZenWiFi BT10, TP-Link Deco offers two years, and the Nest Wifi Pro's guarantee runs out in October 2027.

## Frequently asked questions

### What is the most durable mesh Wi-Fi system?

Going by written commitments rather than marketing, eero's Wi-Fi 7 models: a three-year US warranty and security updates guaranteed until at least October 31, 2031. We found no published failure-rate data, so no one can rank mesh systems on how long the hardware itself survives.

### How long do mesh Wi-Fi systems last?

There is no published average. In practice, a mesh system stays safe to use for as long as it gets security updates. eero guarantees at least five years from a new purchase on eero.com or Amazon.com, Google at least five years from when it starts selling a Nest device on the US Google Store, and Netgear says support generally ends three years after a model's last sale date.

### Is the Google Nest Wifi Pro still worth buying in 2026?

Only if you get it cheaply and accept a short guaranteed support window. Google lists its security-update guarantee as running until at least October 27, 2027, and its US store lists a one-year limited warranty.

### Does a longer warranty mean the hardware is better built?

Not necessarily. A warranty tells you who pays if a unit fails during that period, not how likely it is to fail. It is still the only durability promise you can enforce.

### Will my mesh system stop working when updates end?

No. eero says its devices keep working and providing Wi-Fi after the guarantee ends, but without guaranteed security fixes. Netgear says products past end of service no longer get firmware updates, including security updates.
